What We Do

Legislation:

SCA is 3rd leading cause of death in the U.S.

Despite the prevalence of SCA, heart screenings are not mandatory in schools, or athletic organizations, and are often not covered by insurance.

Our foundation continues to work on state legislation to ensure every child has access to proper testing for heart defects.

We plan to install 10 AEDs throughout gyms and wrestling facilities by 2024.

Scholarships:

Through the NSU Wrestling Program, we have awarded over $40K in scholarships to well-deserving students from Prior Lake and South Dakota.

  • Youth Wrestling Camp

    Youth Camps

Curtis had a special affection for a picturesque prairie in central South Dakota.

Amidst 70 acres of tranquil woods and grasslands, overlooking Swan Lake, we've transformed a century-old barn into a state-of-the-art training facility. Featuring a 2-mile obstacle course with 10 distinct challenges, Camp Curty provides unparalleled opportunities for high-level technique training, cutting-edge cardio workouts, and fostering mental toughness.

But Camp Curty is more than just a training ground. It's an immersive outdoor experience, offering activities like fishing, archery, trapping, and hunting. Designed to blend fun with team building, Camp Curty creates life-changing moments for wrestlers seeking both athletic excellence and personal growth.

  • Fishing Frenzy Curtis LeMair Legacy Foundation

    Annual Fishing Frenzy

Curtis's love for the great outdoors was boundless, defining his zest for life.

In tribute to his vibrant spirit, we proudly organize the annual Fishing Frenzy at Camp Curty in Hoven, South Dakota. This lively weekend is brimming with professionally guided Walleye fishing adventures, a fish fry, games, Karaoke, and an abundance of family-friendly fun.

Beyond the joy of fishing and the festivities, the true essence lies in the countless memories created, all in honor of Curty's enduring legacy.

  • Youth Pheasant Hunting South Dakota

    Youth Pheasant Hunts

Curtis's journey into the world of pheasant hunting began as soon as he could walk the fields.

For him, hunting transcended mere recreation; it was a profound bond he shared with his father. In the weekend leading up to Curty's passing, he sought solace amidst the serene fields of Hoven, South Dakota, tracking pheasants.

Since the age of 11, Curtis eagerly participated in an annual youth pheasant hunt. The memories created and the camaraderie fostered during these hunts serve as invaluable contributors to personal growth and character development for all involved.

In honor of Curtis's enduring passion, we continue to host youth pheasant hunts, keeping his spirit alive in every flushed bird and shared moment in the field.
